Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Coverage of Mayoral Race

Milwaukee, WI–January 13, 2026–Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Mayoral races have emerged in four western Waukesha County communities – Delafield, Muskego, Oconomowoc and Waukesha – for the spring 2026 elections.

Two were expected. Oconomowoc Mayor Robert Magnus and Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly signaled in 2025 that they would not seek new terms. But in Delafield and Muskego, incumbents will face challenges from candidates who had not broadly signaled their intent to run prior to the filing deadline.

Delafield Mayor Tim Aicher and Aaron Werner, a custom home builder and a lake real estate brokerage business owner, will be on the April 7 ballot. Muskego Mayor Rick Petfalski will be challenged by his Muskego predecessor, Kathy Chiaverotti.
