Aaron Werner Announces Candidacy for Mayor of Delafield

Delafield, WI — January, 5 2026 — Aaron Werner today announced his candidacy for Mayor of Delafield, outlining a vision centered on preserving the city’s unique character, repairing community trust, and preparing Delafield for the future.

“Delafield is a special place because of its history, its natural beauty, and the people who call it home,” Werner said. “My goal as mayor is to protect what makes Delafield special—while also ensuring our city is financially strong, well-managed, and prepared for the next generation.”

Werner emphasized the importance of new leadership that respects Delafield’s past while embracing thoughtful modernization. His campaign priorities include protecting neighborhoods and open spaces, encouraging responsible and well-planned development, supporting local businesses, maintaining transparent, accountable city government, and getting a long term deal in place with Lake Country Fire & Rescue and the six other communities sharing fire services with the City of Delafield.

“Residents deserve a mayor that listens, communicates clearly, and makes decisions based on what the community actually wants - not the Mayor's pet projects,” Werner said. “We need a mayor that understands how to get a deal done. The debacle of a negotiation led by the current mayor on our city's fire services cannot be repeated in 2026."  

Werner also highlighted the importance of collaboration, pledging to work closely with residents, city staff, and regional partners to ensure Delafield remains a safe, welcoming, and vibrant community, stating "We can grow in a way that strengthens our tax base, supports local businesses, and preserves the character that brought so many of us here in the first place.” 

“I’m running for mayor because I believe Delafield’s best days are ahead of us—if we lead with common sense, respect for our history, and a clear vision for the future,” Werner said.
