New Leadership for Delafield’s Future
Learn how Aaron plans to change the culture of Delafield’s City Hall.
A FRESH START FOR DELAFIELD
FRESH IDEAS FOR DELAFIELD
Fire & Emergency Services
Aaron Werner
Aaron will get a long-term deal done with LCFR and our neighboring communities by building bridges, listening to Delafield residents and respecting all viewpoints. Aaron will be hands-on with the LCFR negotiation and ensure we don’t permanently destroy the relationship with our partners.
City Hall under Aicher
Tim Aicher’s approach to leadership is “My Way or the Highway.” This works well when buying a used car, but it’s not how you manage a City or how you should negotiate with long-term partners in a fire contract.
Special Interests
Aaron Werner
As a first time local candidate, Aaron is beholden to no one and is a true independent candidate. Aaron’s leadership style is to listen to all viewpoints and facts, and then make a decision based on what is best for the long-term interests of Delafield and its residents, not special interests.
City Hall under Aicher
As a long time local candidate, Tim Aicher has worked his way to the mayor’s office by building political alliances over many years. To repay those alliances, Tim fought for years to use Delafield taxpayer dollars to fund the Pier at St. John’s. This resulted in an expensive multi-year litigation, $115,500 of allocated construction costs and a few boat slips in a previously low traffic zone.
Supporting Business
Aaron Werner
Aaron was an attorney for 15 years supporting businesses of all sizes. He is now an entrepreneur and small business owner focused on ensuring downtown Delafield continues to support small businesses and creates an environment that facilitates their success, not hinders their growth.
City Hall under Aicher
Ask most business owners downtown and they will tell you (behind closed doors) how they are treated by City Hall. City Hall thinks business owners are there to serve them, not the other way around.
Environment
Aaron Werner
Keeping Nagawicka Lake pristine and our public parks in order are core principals of keeping Delafield elevated. Aaron will explore ways to grow greenspace through citizen-led initiatives.
City Hall under Aicher
Pushing the St. Johns Pier through City Council for years while refusing every step of the way to engage with citizens concerned about the environmental impact of the pier epitomizes Tim Aicher’s view on wildlife and how to engage with people that disagree with you.
City Hall Culture
Aaron Werner
Aaron will work from Day 1 to bring more women and regular citizens from all walks of life into City Hall decisions. Aaron will lead the way on transparency, respect for others and making sure City Hall’s culture is focused on serving Delafield’s citizens.
City Hall under Aicher
Tim Aicher oversees a City Hall where the committees have a 2:1 men-to-women ratio, and open positions are often filled by one candidate invited by Tim to fill the seat.
Leadership & Communication
Aaron Werner
Aaron’s leadership style is defined by questioning the status quo, challenging norms and doing what is best for Delafield - not what is easy or best for the politically connected. As mayor, Aaron will ensure the public has a seat at the table, not just informed afterwards.
City Hall under Aicher
Focused on decisions behind closed doors, then presented at City Hall meetings for unanimous votes. Truly contentious issues are kept from public debate and not communicated effectively.
Politics
Aaron Werner
Mayor is a non-partisan position.
As Mayor, Aaron will be focused on practical, cost-effective strategies to solving local issues. He is proud to be building a coalition of fellow Republicans, as well as Democrats and Independents, who care about Delafield’s future. This big tent approach starts with Jackie Valde - Delafield's longest serving Common Council Member and the Chairwoman of Aaron’s Mayoral Campaign.
Tim Aicher
Tim Aicher has been mayor for one term. He ran unopposed in 2024.
“I’ve served Delafield for a long time and I can tell you this: Aaron Werner is a breath of fresh air. He listens, he brings people together, and he’ll put Delafield first.”
-Jackie Valde
Longest-tenured City of Delafield Common Council Member
